Hats off and "Danke!" to IFA Organisers
Until just a couple of years ago, the IFA show only happened every two years. The decision taken by organisers to run the show annually met with some resistance and criticism from the “it’ll never work” gang. The positive attitude of the IFA management coupled with total dedication and capped off with good old German organisational skills (in that department, nobody does it better, let’s face it!) have not only helped them win the wager, but have propelled IFA to the position of number one CE tradeshow worldwide. But the management crew also knew that for IFA to be truly successful, it had to become more international. In Europe, each country is rightfully proud of its heritage, culture and language, and Germany is no exception. However, it is one country where people have really grasped the value of the English language when it comes to communicating on an international level. As an Australian, many a time I have been with a group of Germans who all spoke English so I could understand... and they don’t even mind! It’s not like that in some other countries. So IFA has been doing its best to welcome international visitors, with English widely used as the language of the show. This year, they’ve gone one step further, commissioning Cleverdis to run the official show daily in English called IFA INTERNATIONAL distributed daily at all info points at the show. Of course, we’re flattered and thrilled to have the opportunity of representing IFA officially in that sense, but we also take our hats off to the organisers for taking that extra step towards making a truly international event.
