Spotlight on Technological Comfort
True Added Value
The role of Cleverdis a purveyor of “information intelligence” as to the use of technologies in the hospitality sector took another step forward in 2008, when we launched into the activity of technological audits for top hotels. Indeed the demand from hoteliers to have a personalised audit of their establishment -- highlighting their shortcomings and strong points -- is an indication of the new importance given to this aspect by savvy hoteliers. To this end, in December, Cleverdis was commission to undertake a detailed technological audit of the Pullman Marseille Provence, and this SPECIALreport outlines the highlights of what we observed.
Without doubt, two of the most important aspects of a top class hotel today are the welcome one receives and the fact that in technological terms the hotel is in step with the modern world. The Accor group’s Pullman chain is emerging as a particularly strong player in the field of top class business hotels, combining trendy design and comfort with excellence in technology, with particular attention paid to personalised service. This is especially the case at the Pullman Marseille Provence, where the staff members’ warm South of France persona adds a special “je ne sais quoi” to one’s stay.
An example of this “tech friendliness” comes in the creation of a new kind of organisation based around the front desk. No longer is there a “concierge desk”, but the hotel has “welcomers” (a new term for the next Oxford Dictionary) who not only are able to help guests with where to go and what to do in this diverse and interesting region, but also with such things as how to find one’s real-time flight information on the interactive information screens in the lobby, or helping make the customer feel comfortable in the business centre.
This establishment is particularly well suited to group meetings, product launches or seminars, thanks not only to the “honing” by the Accor group of the brand towards business travellers, but also the fact that in technological terms, guests are particularly well served, as you, the reader, will observe through the detail in the following pages.
