Las Vegas, NV, USA – 8th Jan, 2008: The entire management crew of IFA Berlin were in Las Vegas for the official announcement today of a new “white goods” category for what has, until now, been entirely based on Consumer Electronics.

Explaining the inclusion of large domestic appliances in what will be termed “Home Appliances @ IFA”, Messe Berlin COO, Dr Christian Göke said, "we are basically mirror copying what is happening in the distribution channels already, and we feel comfortable that this move will improve the quality of the show again... we will reach a new dimension. The media coverage will significantly grow by integrating this segment into our show. It was not an easy decision, but we feel comfortable that this time all the major arguments for our three core clients – the end consumer, the trade visitor and the media – will all approve this decision. They all gain from this integration of the White Goods industry".
